ACQUAVIVA BIBLIOLAB
AcquaViva Bibliolab is a library associated with the comunal library of Monte di Procida designed tom promote learning and knowledge.
The space is divided in two parts:
📚 A studyng/reading room where you can also borrow or return books from the public library in Monte di Procida after requesting them via mail at info@amontediprocida.
🧪 A space dedicated to activities and projects for people of all ages, but young people in particular.
Situated in Via Bellavista 110 in Monte di Procida, the library is open 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM from Monday to Friday and on a Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We reccomend booking a space to make sure there is availability.
The structure consists of a big room for concentrating and an open space to study and read but also relax, chat or take a break. All elements for productive studyng are provided: wi-fi, electrecity sockets, comfortable desks, a computer for online consulting, air conditioning.
To access the library registration is required Following the registration procedure, the number of the BiblioLab card will be sent by e-mail, after which it is possible to collect the card at AcquaViva BiblioLab during opening hours with an identification document.
HOW ACQUAVIVA BIBLIOLAB WAS BORN
RIQUALIFICATION: FIRST PHASE
AcquaViva BiblioLab was born to give back to the people by turning the old municipal aqueduct, out of service for nearly 10 years, into a space for everyone.
The building was then made acccessible and open to people thanks to funds coming from the public and from the project “grandi passeggiate”.
Why ACQUAVIVA (“alive water”)?
Because this place contained water.
Water, one of the four fundamental elements of the universe.
Water, that has its own story and memory.
Water, which helped the developing of Monte di Procida.
Alive, because this place is alive and ready for the future.
AcquaViva (“Alive Water”) is located in the highest point of the island because in the lowest point there is the famous beach of AcquaMorta (“Dead Water”).
“BENESSERE GIOVANI - H2O- HUB 2.0” PROJECT: SECOND PHASE
In 2018 the second phase started, promoted by the city of Monte di Procida with the main partners Archè, Rearch, Bytemotion, Iocisto and Trefoglie and financed by the Region of Campania with the funds coming from the project “Benessere Giovani”.
The idea was to create a space for everyone, with the help of associations and the participation of trainees, organizing many projects for unemployed and non studying youngsters, and also students from the high school “L.A. Seneca” in Bacoli and Monte di Procida. The main activities concerned acting, robotics, introduction to work life and creative recycling.
A survey was conducted on the people in the phlegrean area asking how socially alive the community. The result consisted in a demand of socially active spaces and areas to work and study.
The AcquaViva Lab officially opens on the 19th of December 2019 and is presented by the Mayor and many rappresentatives of the local administration.
THIRD PHASE
Many tutors and trainees have then been selected to take care and organize the AcquaViva Lab. An initiative created by young people for young people, to share experiences, discuss the future and grow as people and as citizens. The project’s aim is to help young people in their growth by collecting experiences and skills which favor personal growth, active citizenship and exalt their artistic and creative personality. The old structure is now becoming a space dedicated to young people for sharing and creating new ideas.
